A Time Machine Called COVID-19: Living a Decade in a Year
Stephen J. Taylor, Isonomy, UK and ItalyIt is only six months since I last penned an editorial for ICR. In it I had the temerity to think about the trends for the next decade. Since I failed to foresee COVID-19 and the utterly changed world we are now facing, you may, dear reader decide that my forecasting skills are less than perfect. I can only apologise and offer understanding should you not wish to read further.
In my defence I did say we might have a left field event and while I had in mind 2025 rather than early 2020, 'the Virus' has triggered a wave of developments that might under normal circumstances have taken years to mature. Not all of these are for the better but as the old adage goes, never let a crisis go to waste. I am confident that there will be much good to come out of the decisions made this year
