The UK Restructuring Plan Comes of Age – Part One

Angus Groom, Barrister, and Charlotte Ward, Barrister, South Square, London, UK

Synopsis
Since the introduction of Part 26A of the Companies Act 2006, the UK Restructuring Plan ('RP') has quickly become a key part of the restructuring toolkit available in the English courts.
This article series tracks the evolution of the RP from an idea in a consultation to where it is today. Part One outlines the origins and nature of the RP before examining the early cases which shaped the regime. Subsequent parts will focus on the debates and developments over more recent years that have refined and clarified the jurisdiction.
